Oath-Taking Rally
At 9.38 A.M. on 28th February, 2019, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Senior High Department held the 100-day oath-taking rally of the 2019 College Entrance Examination for Grade 12 at the School Lecture Hall. Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong attended the rally to cheer the students on. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Xu Haihong, Deputy Director of the Senior High Department. Also in attendance were Vice Directors Cao Siqing, Liu Qiongdan as well as all the teachers and students from the 12th grade.
In the first place, the oath-taking rally began in the loud and clear national anthem. The venue was lit up by the high morale of the students. On the one hand, student representative Xu Yangyang from Class 1, Grade 12 made a speech and was quoted as saying, ‘We shall prove to youth with indomitable attitude that we will live up to the great trust of our school, our teachers’ high expectations and our dreams of youth!’ On the other hand, on behalf of all the teachers from Grade 12, head teacher Wang Qianghai from Class 6, Grade 12 sent warm wishes to the students and made s solemn commitment to fight with the children side by side to escort the College Entrance Examination!
In the second place, Vice Director Cao Siqing with the Senior High Section delivered a mobilization speech. One hundred days before the Chinese Gaokao is a new starting point in which thousands of ships race and hundreds of ships compete. It is a critical moment for students to strive hard and realize their dreams. Vice Director Cao Siqing hoped that all the teachers and students from Grade 12 would change pressure into motivation and turn oath into actions to radiate extraordinary splendor in June. Meanwhile, Vice Director Cao Siqing reminded students to be confident, cherish time, reflect on their own, lose fewer points, have a normal attitude and attach importance to safety. Afterwards, teachers and students passionately made a pledge in the strongest voice, which reflected their strong determination to ‘fight for the College Entrance Exam and realize their dreams!’
In the third place, Principal Assistant Qian Zhihong sent his wishes to the students and pointed out that the 12th grade meant bitterness, tiredness, struggle, thick papers and undefeated spirit. Therefore, the battlefield of the Chinese Gaokao is a place where students can create miracles most possibly. When you feel tired and want to give up, do not forget that others are still on the road. As the saying goes, learning is like rowing upstream; not to advance is to drop back.
In the fourth place, President Madam Huang Wenli delivered a keynote speech and was quoted as saying, ‘In this beautiful season, we gather together to witness the most special moment on your 12-year study journey. The bugle of the College Entrance Exam has sounded and you have stood at the crossroads of life. You carry the expectations of Anqing Foreign Language School and your parents and you know very well how important this moment is. We have the honor to accompany you through the most brilliant stage of your life. We believe every drop of sweat and every effort you make will help you create a better future. Please cherish the last days in Anqing Foreign Language School, be grateful and fight hard!’
In the fifth place, President Madam Huang Wenli and Vice Principal Liu Bing unveiled the 100-day countdown to the 2019 College Entrance Examination and signed the long paper together with the teachers and students from Grade 12.
In a nutshell, what gathers into the invincible force is the leadership of the President of Anqing Foreign Language School, the support of all the departments, the teaching of the teachers, the cooperation of the parents and the hard work of the students. All that mentioned above injected infinite power into the fight for the last 100 days before the Chinese Gaokao. It’s believed that in the next 100 days, our students from Grade 12 will cherish time, prepare for the exam in earnest and write a regretless youth movement with endeavor and hard work.
